The Business of Art: SLOANE x Café OLIVIA

A morning of young artists, big ideas, and the kind of ambition that reminds us why community matters.
On April 25, Café OLIVIA Downtown had the honor of hosting The Business of Art: Breakthrough Artists Showcase, presented by The Sloane Arts Initiative in partnership with Unthink.AI and Café OLIVIA.
The event brought together high school artists, nonprofit leaders, creative professionals, families, and supporters for a morning dedicated to art, access, and the real-world possibilities that live at the intersection of creativity and business.
From the moment guests walked into the lobby, the energy was clear. Artwork filled the space. Conversations were happening everywhere. Young artists were not only showing their work, but stepping into the experience of presenting, pricing, selling, sharing, and being seen.
And that is what made the day feel special.
A Platform for the Next Generation
The showcase was created to give talented teen artists a place to exhibit and sell their work while connecting with industry voices who could offer guidance, feedback, and support. The event also featured a Business of Art panel, where artists and attendees heard from professionals about creative careers, entrepreneurship, storytelling, and what it means to build a life around art.
Café OLIVIA was proud to be part of that mission.
We have always believed in creating spaces that feel generous, expressive, and open to discovery. SLOANE carries that same spirit. Their work sits at the intersection of art, fashion, sustainability, and access — with a clear belief that creativity should be supported early, seriously, and with care.
What stood out most was not just the event itself, but the people behind it. The young women leading SLOANE are bright, thoughtful, and wildly ambitious. To see what they are building while still in high school is genuinely inspiring. They are not waiting for permission. They are creating platforms, building community, and giving other young artists a chance to step forward.
That kind of vision deserves attention.
Art, Access, and Real Support
Throughout the morning, guests experienced work from more than 40 high school artists, a panel conversation with industry professionals, digital engagement through the Unthink.AI platform, and food and refreshments from Café OLIVIA.
Sales and donations supported both the participating artists and The Sloane Arts Initiative’s mission to improve art education and accessibility, including donating art supplies to Dallas ISD schools in need.
For us, that connection is what made the collaboration feel so natural. Café OLIVIA is built around more than food and coffee. It is about gathering, creating, and giving people a place to feel connected. This event brought that idea to life in a beautiful way.
